CORNWALL, ENGLAND, March 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) A busy day of culinary delights and live entertainment awaits people heading to next month's Porthleven Food and Music Festival in Cornwall.
Taking place between 10:00 and 21:30 BST on Saturday April 9th, the event will kick-start the region's festival season with a programme of free activities and fun for all the family.
It is perhaps the only event in the country where people can enjoy local food stalls, fancy dress costumes, traditional Cornish singing, hip-hop dancing and a Beatles tribute band in one place.
As patron of the annual festival, celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson will be in attendance once more this year.
The TV gastronome is due to give a cooking demonstration and award fancy dress prizes over the course of the day.
Food lovers should find plenty to enjoy in Porthleven, as the marquees will include a fish barbecue, a hog roast and stalls from more than 70 local producers.
The theme of this year's festival is "Food resourcefulness and re-skilling our children", so participating chefs have been asked to demonstrate how to make delicious meals with the more economical cuts of meat.
Festival-goers can find many of the luxury hotels in Cornwall listed at LateRooms.com, which recommends the Jamaica Inn Cornwall.
