The program is reported to provide means of automatically managing secure backups of emails from POP3 servers and supporting a wide range of email clients.

There were a lot of talks back then, and the scary math was much discussed: assume that Hotmail might have lost just 1% of its mail; it would be an enormous amount of 3.5 million users then. In a rather short time after that we witnessed some bad weather in the cloud when Google had issues with its Calendars. The two occasions must have made us wondering how secure the information we store in the web is. At least the web mail, for doubtlessly this type of data is of the major importance. However, when Gmail accounts were lost recently, it turned out that for more than a half of 500,000 'service disruption' victims there happened to be no chance to restore their accounts in an acceptable time.

Handy Backup protects emails via managing secure webmail backup (http://www.handybackup.net/webmail-backup.shtml ). The program can copy data from any POP3 server. The backup might be arranged to be automatically performed according to a schedule.
Like for other types of data accessible for backup with Handy Backup, the protected files might be stored to an internal or external hard drive, DVD, CD, network drive, or remote FTP/SFTP server.
Handy Backup can create backups of a variety of email clients, including MS Outlook, Windows Mail, and Outlook Express. The whole functionality is incorporated in a common Outlook Backup plug-in which is available in all editions of the program.
The security of web mail protection is supported with unbreakable Blowfish cipher featuring a 128 bit key length.
