Ameri-Dry Helps Victims of Tennessee Floods

Ameri-Dry Basement Waterproofing assists residents of Tennessee whose basements were flooded as a result of severe storms.

2011-03-11
KNOXVILLE, TN, March 11, 2011 (Press-News.org) Following a pattern of severe weather that produced tornado-force winds and dumped heavy rains on the NE Tennessee region, many homes and businesses were left flooded. Ameri-Dry received multiple calls from frantic homeowners with wet basements and was able to immediately respond to the need.

The Times Free Press reported that the storm produced 70-mile-per-hour winds and torrential rains, damaging structures and leaving many streets, backyards, and basements flooded. According to a spokesperson for the region's power company, nearly 30,000 homes and businesses were left without power as a result, and the damage was some of the worst seen in the region in 30 years.

"It was heartbreaking to witness the aftermath of the severe weather in NE Tennessee, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims," said Ameri-Dry President, Barry Antonelli. "Though it's one small piece of the cleanup effort, we were thankful that we had the opportunity to do our part in solving one problem for those homeowners who were left to grapple with a flooded basement. At least they can now have peace of mind and know that their basements are dry."

The company, which services the Knoxville, Bristol, Greeneville, Johnson City, Kingsport, and Morristown, TN areas, as well as the Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC region, received and responded to dozens of calls from frantic homeowners as far away as Kentucky, as a result of the flooding.

With more rain in the forecast, Ameri-Dry is readying technicians to respond to additional calls from homeowners who will face the overwhelming task of dealing with a flooded basement.
