LateRooms.com - Check Out Rolando Villazon in Barcelona

Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu is to host a performance by world-famous opera star Rolando Villazon.

2011-03-19
BARCELONA, SPAIN, March 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) Rolando Villazon has built up a fabulous reputation in the opera world and he will showcase his acclaimed vocal talents in Barcelona next month.

The Mexican singer will take the Gran Teatre del Liceu stage on April 3rd.

Since breaking out on to the international opera scene in 1999, he has received widespread acclaim for the expressive way he portrays every part.

"Villazon has a firm reputation as one of the most celebrated lyric tenors in opera, appreciated for his magnificent voice, his mastery of the art of singing and his pleasant personality," noted the organisers.

They pointed out that his performances in L'eliser de amore and Manon in 2005 and 2007 at the venue were both enthusiastically received.

Villazon will be accompanied by the theatre's own symphony orchestra conducted by Michael Hofstetter.

The popularity of the show has meant most of the cheaper tickets are sold out, but there are still some seats available for EUR108 (GBP93.85). The action begins at 17:00 local time.
