BOSTON, MA, March 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) Life is Nutz, a company dedicated to raising money for several select charities by selling Life is Nutz apparel and accessories, today announced their latest partnership and comedy event to help raise money and awareness for The Seat Swap.
The Seat Swap is a unique, non-profit ticket exchange that allows generous ticket holders to donate unwanted, or potentially unused, sports event tickets for children who are emotionally, financially, or physically unable to afford tickets on their own.
Emceeing The Seat Swap event will be Mike Adams, a beloved figure in Boston Sports. His radio program, Planet Mikey, broadcasts weeknights on WEEI Sports Radio Network. Adams, a 3-time Emmy Awards winner, has been recognized as Boston's Best Sports Anchor two years in a row. "Having been a little 'Nutz' my whole life, this event seems perfect for me. I love comedy, sports and especially kids more than anything, and being able to connect them all for a great cause is perfect", commented Mikey Adams.
Joining Mikey Adams are well-known comedians, Joey Carrol, Jack Lynch, Mike Whitman and local funny lady, Jessica Casciano.
"We want to make a difference in the lives of kids," stated Life is Nutz, Bill Beers, chief executive officer. "There are countless kids and families who have never experienced a live Red Sox game, Bruins, or Celtics event. We love what The Seat Swap is doing for these families and we want to help," continued Beers.
Inspired by witnessing the joy and pride of a terminally ill child attending his first Boston Red Sox game through Make-A-Wish foundation, The Seat Swap specializes in only providing tickets to sporting events and the experience that encompasses the game. .
"We are finding these experiences to be just as rewarding for the deserving guardian as well. In most of these cases, the child and guardian/parent have shared more trauma, heartache, struggle or suffering together and have few moments of pure happiness and positive memories as a family or pair—so you not only have given a good memory to a child, but to the parent as well." Jackye Colligan, Founder

While a number of companies credit their survival during the turbulence of the past two years to the Recovery and Reinvestment Act, many are skeptical. They contend that the law - over a thousand pages — is onerous and limited in many areas where they were hoping to see more.
