Survey of Younger Men Reveals a Cougar's Confidence is Her Greatest Asset

Pioneering report by Cougared.com exposes what younger men really think about "cougars" and answers key questions about the cougar dating scene

2011-03-20
LONDON, ENGLAND, March 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Older women and younger men has been a hot topic for a while but at last the dating site Cougared.com can reveal the truth about how men see this relationship phenomenon.

The first ever Cougared.com Cub Report is a ground-breaking survey designed to get inside the mind of the modern younger man and answers questions like: Why do you date older women? What got you into the idea of "cougars"? Where and how do you date older women? Do your family know? Should "cougars" ever retire and lots more.

Headline findings from the Cougared.com Cub Report include:

* The biggest turn-on for younger men is maturity: forget the cougar cliches of low cut tops, silicon boobs and fake tans; genuine confidence does it for these guys

* Sarah Palin is the ultimate fantasy cougar woman: the high powered 'hockey mom' beat cougar icons such as Demi Moore, Kim Catrall, Courteney Cox and Madonna

* The perfect age range for a cougar is 41-45: proving that the Cougar Town casting people got it just about right with Courteney Cox, who took on the role aged 45.

* 1 in 5 cougar chasers have got together with a friend's mother: life imitates art with the infamous Stifler's Mom scene from American Pie being played out across America

* Two thirds say the media and celebrities have an effect: it's officially less socially awkward to date older women thanks the media's coverage of cougars

* 19% have been 'cougared' at work by a boss or older co-worker: a truly modern spin on the office romance.

The survey delved into many more aspects of the cougar scene, including dating conventions like: who pays for dinner and drinks; where men like to go on cougar dates and whether their cougar crush is kept secret from family and friends.

Cougared.com founder Oliver Jameson commented: "We have gained an unprecedented insight into the modern younger man's opinions and attitudes about cougars in 2011.

"One of the most telling findings is that only 8% of the men we polled are seeking a sugar mama, proving that modern cubs are not obsessed with money - they are more interested in having a good time with a sexy, confident woman.

"The men are not hypocrites either - 80% said they would not necessarily object if their own mother became a cougar. This demonstrates that 'cougar' is not a negative concept, it is a positive lifestyle choice."
