Recycled Arts Contest Rewards Thrifty Artists

Delphi Glass announces a new art contest asking artists to create glass art from recycled supplies. Entries accepted until April 30th.

LANSING, MI, March 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Delphi, the source for art glass supplies and education, announces a new online art contest aimed at rewarding artists who are creating projects from recycled supplies. Entries will be accepted April 1 - 30, 2011 at DelphiGlass.com/pr/recycled-arts. Winners will be announced May 6.

Following its annual Art Glass Festival, Delphi has organized an online event to celebrate Earth Day and encourage artists to use old items in new and interesting ways.

Acceptable projects include anything in stained glass, fused glass, glass jewelry, flameworking, mosaics and ceramics that contains at least one recycled element. Ten winners will be chosen at random to receive the new Generation Green (G2) Bottle Cutter.

"We want to reward artists who are thoughtful of the environment," said Dan Daniels, president of Delphi. "And we hope this contest will encourage artists to give new life to forgotten items."
