The Area 8 Juniors Camp, which is designed for new as well as experienced competitors, will focus on a variety of topics such as marksmanship, stage breakdown and planning, match day performance, nutrition and exercise. There will also be an opportunity to learn about USPSA MultiGun competition with the camp providing the rifle, shotgun and ammunition required for that segment.
Instruction for the Area 8 Juniors Camp will be provided by a cadre of top USPSA competitors who have donated their time to help the young shooters develop their skills. Among those instructing will be Todd Sindelar, Matt Trout, Mike DiGennaro, Howard Thompson, Dean DeTurk, Kirk McWilliams and the husband and wife team of Ron and Megan Francisco.
The camp is limited to just 30 shooters with priority given to juniors living within the Area 8 states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. USPSA junior members residing outside Area 8 that are interested in attending the camp may put their name on a waiting list.
"The Area 8 Juniors Camp is a tremendous opportunity for young shooters from the Mid-Atlantic states to learn from and train under some of the best shooters in the region. Our volunteer instructors are ready to help those attending the camp take their shooting to the next level," said Foltz.
The Area 8 Juniors Camp is sponsored by MGM Targets, TechWear USA, CPWSA, Shooters Connection, Brownells, Truck Vault, Sport Shooters Training and Atlanta Arms & Ammo. The cost of the camp is $150 per shooter and includes all range fees, lodging for one night, lunch at the range and an Area 8 Juniors Camp shirt. Organizers have planned activities for the parents accompanying their juniors.
Those interested in attending should contact Harry Foltz via email at hf219@comcast.net to indicate their interest in attending and request an application. To secure a slot parents must submit the completed application along with the camp fee.
