ROCKVILLE, MD, March 28, 2011 (Press-News.org) The disaster in Japan has the world's attention. Millions of people watch in horror as the people of Japan struggle to get through day by day. Japan suffered a 1-2-3 punch in the events of an earthquake, then a tsunami, and finally nuclear radiation worries. Many different teams of rescuers have been sent over to Japan to aid in the search and rescue efforts. These teams have been tasked with the responsibility to search for both survivors and bodies in various towns and villages along the east coast of Japan. What has become an almost requirement for these teams are tools that are both portable and easy to use.
Pulse Oximeters Plus, a Maryland based company, has been keeping a close eye on the events unfolding in Japan. Pulse Oximeters Plus has already donated monetary means to the country, but has also started to make plans to donate its products to the emergency responders. Their main product, the pulse oximeter, is a portable device used to measure the blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate of individuals. These pulse oximeters are not your old traditional tabletop units, but rather fingertip units which are smaller than your average mobile phone. A fingertip pulse oximeter operates on standard AA batteries, and provides its readings of blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate within seconds. Pulse Oximeters Plus already is a major provider of pulse oximetry devices to various clinics, nursing homes, and hospices in North America.
Many different clinics and charitable organizations have approached Pulse Oximeters Plus with the notion of teaming up with them to add pulse oximeters to various "care packages," which are being sent to survivors and rescuers. Various emergency responders in the United States already use these portable finger pulse oximeters. These responders have raved about the ease of use, mobility, and their accurate readings of a pulse oximeter. These devices first became popular with volunteer fire departments and nurses. Volunteer fire departments and nurses first tried out the devices not just because they were both portable, but also cost effective.
Pulse Oximeters Plus hopes to help make a difference by helping the efforts of rescuers in Japan.
Pulse Oximeters Plus.com is the trusted leader in providing the highest quality, lowest-cost, FDA approved Pulse Oximeters in the industry. Specializing in Finger Oximeter, Hand Held Oximeter, Pediatric Oximeter, or Sleep Apnea Unit Oximeter, PulseOximetersPlus.com offers the latest oximeter technology at discount wholesale prices.
