LateRooms.com - Prague Music Fans to Welcome Diplo

World-renowned DJ and producer Diplo is heading to Prague later this year.

2011-03-30
PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC, March 30, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Lucerna Music Bar in Prague is set to welcome one of the leading figures in contemporary dance music.

Diplo, the American producer and DJ known for his innovative remixes and acclaimed work with MIA, will appear at the venue on Wednesday May 4th.

Based in Philadelphia, the artist rose to prominence as part of the Hollertronix collective and released his debut album Florida in 2004.

However, it was his collaborations with London-based singer and rapper MIA that exposed him to a larger audience and helped take his career to the next level.

The pair collaborated on the mixtape Piracy Funds Terrorism, which became a major underground hit in 2004 before the release of Arular, MIA's debut album.

Diplo also co-produced Paper Planes, the song that gave MIA one of her biggest commercial hits in 2008 after featuring on the soundtracks of hit movies Pineapple Express and Slumdog Millionaire.

More recently, he has released dancehall music under the guise of Major Lazer alongside frequent collaborator Switch, another DJ and producer.

People heading to see Diplo in Prague can expect a typically diverse set of party tunes, underground anthems and brand new mixes.

Tickets are now available online, priced at 450 Czech koruna (GBP16.10).

Fans can browse LateRooms.com for a large selection of Prague hotels, including the Hotel Tosca Prague.
