ATLANTA, GA, March 30, 2011 (Press-News.org) The World Basketball Association [WBA], former home to Atlanta Hawks' Josh Powell and LA Clippers' Jamario Moon, will host its official 2011 WBA Season Press Conference on Friday, April 8th, at 1:30 pm, at Fox Sports Grill in Atlantic Station for media and fans. The well respected exposure league will also hold the 8th Annual WBA Professional Tryout Camp on Friday, April 15th and Saturday, April 16th in preparation for the upcoming season. Professional team tryouts will be held at Rhodes Jordon Park at 100 East Crogan Street in Lawrenceville, GA, from 8 am to 3 pm both days. Players can register at http://www.wbaball.net for $200 or on-site for $225; a $50 discount is given when source code "WBA777" is used by April 1st; fee is half-off if participant brings a teammate. Scouts and agents from the WBA, NBA, NBDL and overseas leagues, will be present.
The WBA 2011 game season runs from May 20th - July 2nd with teams from Birmingham (AL); Columbus (GA); Decatur (GA); Fayetteville (TN); Gwinnett (GA); Jacksonville (FL); Marietta (GA); and Rome (GA).
In honor of the 8th World Basketball Association season, the WBA Foundation and sponsors Check Up Athletic Wear and Marriott Columbus will present the 8th Annual Historical Black College All-Star Classic [HBCAC] on Saturday, April 23rd, at the Columbus, GA Civic Center. The top-24 basketball stars of Historical Black Colleges and Universities from across the country will showcase their skills for thousands of fans, as well as NBA overseas scouts. ABOUT THE WBA: The WBA Exposure League was created in 2002 to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to NBA, D-League, KBL, PBL, and international scouts. WBA teams are comprised of talented athletes with a maximum of five years professional experience.
