BOSTON, MA, April 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) World renowned healthcare publication, HSJ, has launched a new free resource for its users thanks to the technology of SIMUL8 simulation software.
The Simulation Lab is a toolkit of online simulations of topical healthcare issues that allow users to experiment with improvement ideas in a risk free environment.
The simulations allow users to enter their own data and experiment with different scenarios to evaluate which option will work best for their health system. Whether you're a manager or a clinician, you can take on the role of decision maker and find answers to your questions.
Each month, SIMUL8 will add a new simulation that explores the key issues facing healthcare organizations today and give users the chance to ask 'What if?' questions like:
• What if I introduced new treatment options - would I reduce waiting times?
• What if I reworked shift patterns - could I ensure quality of patient care?
• What if demand increased - can my system cope?
"It's a fantastic opportunity to work with such a respected publication," says Claire Cordeaux, SIMUL8 Corporation's Lead for Healthcare, "The feedback we have received from users has been overwhelmingly positive. Having this close contact with the people who use our software every day allows us to find out exactly what they need to make their lives easier."
The current simulations available include testing out breast cancer treatment options, dermatology care pathways and CT and MRI scanner capacity requirements. Users can suggest the simulations they'd like to see added every month, to make sure the Lab will cover the topics affecting those working directly in the healthcare industry.
