PHOENIX, AZ, April 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) American Professional Services (APS) announced that it has expanded their commercial hood cleaning business to Phoenix, Arizona chain restaurants. With headquarters located in Denver Colorado since 1989, APS built a fabrication plant in Placentia, California in 2009 so that they could provide their exhaust hoods cleaning service nationwide.
Making the announcement was APS Chief Executive Massoud Farazandeh who said, "We are very pleased to offer our hood cleaning expertise to restaurants in the Phoenix, Arizona area.
"We take our hood cleaning services very seriously because the safety of a restaurant establishment is in part dependent upon the prevention of kitchen fires. Cleaning and maintaining commercial exhaust hoods is the number one way to prevent a fire outbreak," he explained.
Why is hood cleaning so important?
Whether you have a hood in your kitchen at home or in a commercial facility, it is vitally important for exhaust hoods to be cleaned and maintained.
In commercial kitchens, grease, dirt, and grime build up over a short time period because the oven and stove usage is so great. This build-up pollutes the air, making it a safety hazard for kitchen workers. Breathing polluted air continuously without the ventilation clean range hoods provide can create major health problems.
This build-up is deposited on floors, ceilings, inside exhaust hoods, and inside the exhaust system ductwork, which extends to a building's roof. If the facility's ownership or management neglects hood cleaning, this build-up creates an environment in which a flash fire can occur at any moment. The effects of this occurrence are devastating - destroying the commercial physical structure, and worse, endangering the lives of those working in the kitchen as well as the lives of customers.
Are there penalties for owners or management who neglect hood cleaning?
There are severe penalties for owners who neglect to maintain and clean their hood exhaust system. Failure to do so is a direct violation of the federal and/or city and state fire codes. Fire inspections are often unannounced and if a restaurant or other commercial kitchen is found to be in violation of the safety codes, the business can be shut down temporarily or for good.
"It never ceases to amaze me," said Farazandeh, "that owners of commercial restaurants would neglect this part of their business. The stakes are so high.
"With our latest endeavor in Phoenix, Arizona," he continued, "you can expect our experts to educate restaurant management regarding the physical dangers of negligent hood cleaning as well as the legal aspect to which the business must adhere."
