DUBAI, UAE, April 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) His Highness Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Art Authority, graciously inaugurated the art exhibition of the internationally-acclaimed Romanian artist Bogdan Lascar. This exceptional event was held at the Armani Hotel in Dubai. His Highness was accompanied by some of the most widely revered officials and personalities in the arts field. After doing the honours of officially inaugurating the event, His Highness subsequently toured the exhibition with the artist. Bogdan Lascar has selected the UAE as the launchpad to showcase 31 pieces of his work, and many other exhibitions will follow in the near future. This development is evidence of the fast pace of progress which has been spearheaded by the various stakeholders in the arts and culture fraternity. With the praiseworthy support of His Highness and other players in the industry, the UAE is geared to become a global hub for art lovers, collectors and exhibitors.
Bogdan Lascar was awarded a Gold Medal by UNESCO in Athens in 2005 for his outstanding contribution towards advancing the arts, and he will exhibit the full spectrum of his 31 pieces at the DIFC until 18 April.
