RALEIGH, NC, August 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) Horizon Forest Products (HFP) and Long Floor have announced the relocation of their Chesapeake branch to a new 33,500 square foot building. The facility is located at 3745 Progress Road in Norfolk, VA and will allow the branch to expand in the coming months.
Long Floor Branch Manager, Chris Williams, says that the employees are "ecstatic" about the recent relocation and explains that although the move from Chesapeake to Norfolk was unplanned, the company is always open to new opportunities and want to go where they can best serve their customers.
"We now have a larger facility and the ability to stock more products," says Williams. "We're committed to being a 'one-stop shop" for our customers, and the new space provides us with a larger warehouse, more space for offices, and has an overall better layout."
Long Floor was founded in 1937 when John Long opened J.P. Long Floor Supply, Co., a Porter Cable sanding equipment and sundries distributorship. The first store was located in what is now known as the historic Shockoe Bottom area of Richmond, Virginia. In 2007, the company merged with sister company, Horizon Forest Products, and services the entire states of Maryland and Virginia, as well as parts of West Virginia, Delaware, and Northeastern North Carolina.
"We are excited to be taking steps forward to grow our business—especially during these tough [economic] times," adds Williams. "Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor are committed to our customers 100%, and with a larger facility we are ready and able to serve our customers' every need."
