GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, April 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) On the glorious 29th of April, everyone, whether they are local Londoners, visitors to the British capital, or organising street parties up and down the country, can track the progress of the happy couple across the entire day, thanks to iDo: London's Royal Wedding, which is now available in the Apple App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/ido-follow-londons-royal-wedding/id429311921?mt=8).
iDo combines GPS with sophisticated mapping technology to show the position of the couple, as well as your current position if you're present at the wedding itself. These positions are highlighted on several exquisite hand-drawn maps, created by renowned artist Katherine Baxter, who has created artwork for many of Britain's leading companies, newspapers and magazines, as well as designing one of the new stamps for the 2012 Olympics.
iDo (http://ido-app.com/) uses Katherine's maps to track and show the location of the happy couple over the course of the whole, historic day. In addition to the royal procession, and your position, the maps also show many of London's most significant buildings and locations. The app provides detailed background on their construction, use and history across the centuries.
iDo provides valuable information for everyone present in London on the big day itself, with additional maps showing bus routes, underground stations and services around your location, ensuring everyone present can enjoy the magical event to the full.
Finally iDo will also track and display the important and authoritative Twitter feeds across the entire course of the day, displaying them within the App, to ensure users don't miss anything important, no matter where they are.
Every user who downloads iDo: Follow London's Royal Wedding is automatically entered in a free prize-draw to win an extremely limited print of Katherine Baxter's map of London's Royal Wedding - signed by the artist herself.
Quintin Cutts, managing director of The Appstillery, the company behind iDO: London's Royal Wedding, said, "On such a special day, when the world comes together to celebrate, we wanted to create something which would allow everyone to join in. For people around the world, iDO will allow them to track the progress of the royal procession and see where the happy couple across the entire day. For those who are present in London itself - locals and visitors alike, we're ensuring that all of the important local information travel and services are there.âEUR
âEURœWe want everyone to be able to celebrate on this happiest of all days and hopefully iDO: London's Royal Wedding will make it easier, safer and more enjoyable for everyone, no matter how they choose to take part. We'd also like to wish his royal highness Prince William and his beautiful bride-to-be Kate Middleton, every future happiness on their special day."
iDO: London's Royal Wedding is now available in the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPod and iPad.
