Doug Young, PhD Named Vice President, Touchpoint Clinical Solutions of Publicis Touchpoint Solutions

YARDLEY, PA, April 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Publicis Touchpoint Solutions —- a leading provider of multichannel message delivery solutions for the life sciences industry -— has announced that Doug Young, PhD has been appointed Vice President of their Touchpoint Clinical Solutions center-of-excellence. Touchpoint Clinical Solutions specializes in clinical health educator programs, medical science liaison teams, and integrated adherence and retention solutions. Publicis Touchpoint Solutions is a division of Publicis Healthcare Communications Group.

Dr. Young joins Publicis Touchpoint Solutions with more than 22 years in the biopharmaceutical industry, including 16 years with Bristol-Myers Squibb where he served most recently as Vice President of Global Medical Affairs and the leader of the Global Field Medical Center-of-Excellence at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Dr. Young also held marketing leadership positions in cardiovascular, neuroscience and diabetes; as well as the role of Group Leader in the Department of Metabolic Diseases. Prior to his tenure at Bristol Myers- Squibb, Dr. Young worked at Sandoz Research (currently Novartis) for 6 years where he led a research team focused on the discovery of new medications for diabetes. He has an extensive background in strategic development and building and leading clinical teams, as well as expertise in marketing, medical affairs, and medical education.

Dr. Young completed his PhD in the Department of Pharmacology and his post-doctoral training in the Department of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, where he later became an Assistant Research Professor.

In his new role, Dr. Young heads the Publicis Touchpoint Solutions' healthcare education center-of-excellence—Touchpoint Clinical Solutions—and is responsible for strategic planning and execution. He reports directly to Rick Keefer, President and CEO, Publicis Touchpoint Solutions.
