ESCONDIDO, CA, April 24, 2011 (Press-News.org) Dr. Michael Yessis, the preeminent biomechanist in the United States, is releasing his How To Hit video that discusses the proper technique needed to hit 400-- and how to acquire that specialized technique.
In the How To Hit video, in which he analyzes a young baseball prospect frame-by-frame, Dr. Yessis explains that batting 400 is not out of the ordinary, nor out of the reach for anyone playing baseball today. He points out that most hitters do not hit 400 because they do not have the technique (often called hitting mechanics) to do so.
"The proper technique to hit 400 requires a progression on body parts beginning with the feet in the all important stride. A good stride contributes significantly to the amount of force that can be generated" states the legendary, biomechanic pioneer Dr. Yessis.
In the How To Hit video (available on YouTube), Dr. Yessis also discusses one of the biggest mistakes made by most hitters of leading with the leg. He illustrates how vital it is to lead with the hips rather than the leg to develop maximum force. As Dr. Yessis describes How To Hit biomechanically, he points out the specific muscles that need to be strengthened to hit 400.
During his fifty plus years of working with athletes, Dr. Yessis has successfully improved athletes in basketball, football, soccer, baseball, track and other sports. Most notable is the improvement in sports technique. He is considered this country's foremost expert on sports technique. In the Jan 2011 issue of Muscle & Fitness, Dr. Yessis is referred to as the legendary biomechanist.
Dr. Yessis has written 16 books in the sports and fitness field including "Build A Better Athlete" and "Biomechanics & Kinesiology of Exercise, and written more than 2,000 articles on fitness and sports training that have appeared in magazines such as Muscle and Fitness, Shape, Scholastic Coach, Fitness Management, National Strength and Conditioning Association Journal and Track and Field Coaches Review. Dr. Yessis Bio can be viewed on the Dr. Yessis website.
