MADRID, SPAIN, April 30, 2011 (Press-News.org) Madrid venue La Riviera will welcome the Brand New Heavies and N'Dea Davenport for a live performance next month.

The show on Wednesday May 25th will give fans of the acid jazz group a chance to hear new material and songs from their extensive back catalogue, which began in 1990 with the release of their self-titled debut album.

With a new album reportedly in the works, the Brand New Heavies remain a highly influential group and their live appearances attract a crowd of devoted followers.

Vocalist Davenport left the band in 1995, but returned to the fold ten years later before the release of their Get Used to It album.

The London-based group are rumoured to be working on a follow-up to their 1992 LP Heavy Rhyme Experience, Vol 1, which saw them team up with various hip-hop artists for an acclaimed collaborative effort.

British rappers such as Dizzee Rascal and Roots Manuva have been linked with the project.

Tickets to see the Brand New Heavies perform in the Spanish capital are available online, priced at EUR22 (GBP19.50).
