Petplan Pet Insurance Promotes Staci Welsh to Veterinary Services Manager

With a proven commitment to pet health care, Welsh's appointment reflects the importance of strong communications with veterinarians about pet insurance options

2011-04-30
PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 30, 2011 (Press-News.org) Petplan, America's top rated pet insurance provider, today announced the promotion of Staci Welsh to Veterinary Services Manager. An industry veteran of more than two decades, Ms. Welsh brings to this position terrific experience as a veterinary technician in both California and New Jersey. Since joining Petplan, Ms. Welsh has served as a Licensed Claims Adjusters and most recently as a Veterinary Services Specialist, where she was integrally involved in veterinary outreach, notably through trade shows and in-clinic consultations.

"We are pleased to promote Staci Welsh to the role of Veterinary Services Manager for Petplan as she has a deep understanding of our industry, the needs of veterinarians and the importance of insurance in helping to maintain pet health," said Dr. Jules Benson, Vice President of Veterinary Services at Petplan. "In this new role, we look to Staci to draw upon her significant professional experience to better serve our veterinarians and to enhance our communication with them to ensure a positive, mutually beneficial relationship with Petplan. Staci will be an exceptional resource for our veterinarians and we are proud to have her as a member of the Petplan family."

With a lifelong passion for pets and their wellbeing, Ms. Welsh began her career as an adoption coordinator for a non-profit animal shelter in Philadelphia, PA. Upon relocating to California, she embarked on a career as a veterinary technician while earning her degree in business at Southwestern College. Even as she returned to the East Coast, she continued to progress in her veterinary career.

"As a veterinary technician, I enjoyed being able to help pets in need on a daily basis. Yet, I often saw pet parents bring beloved animals to our offices and sadly, be unable to pay for an unexpected medical emergency because they did not have pet insurance," says Staci. "Working for Petplan has not only allowed me to educate pet parents on the need for insurance but also, work with veterinarians to provide them with the most current, up-to-date information on pet insurance options for their clients. It has been a rewarding career change for me and I am excited to assume this new position within the company."

Petplan prides itself on hiring personnel with extensive experience in the veterinary industry to better relate and communicate with both pet parents and veterinary professionals. This commitment to assembling a workforce with first-hand knowledge of the importance of proper pet health is at the core of Petplan's service-oriented philosophy.
