PHILADELPHIA PA, May 05, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society (PCMS) is pleased to announce innovative string trio, Time for Three, will perform as part of its Chamber Music Benefit Concerts. Taking place on Friday October 14th at 7:30pm, the Philly trio has a reputation for dynamic and thrilling music.
Stars of the cross-over scene, Time for Three will perform at an unusually intimate space for them -- the American Philosophical Society. Merging traditional, gypsy and jazz elements to create a style of their own, the program includes their arrangements of shorter classical works and popular hits from the Beatles to Brahms.
Celebrated conductor, Simon Rattle, describes Time for Three as "...three benevolent monsters - monsters of ability and technique surely but also conveyors of an infectious joy that I find both touching and moving." The Wall Street Journal says "A self-described 'classically trained garage band'... gaining recognition as leaders of an emerging movement to break classical music out of its traditional mold."
The Chamber Music Series Benefit Concert shines the spotlight on established and emerging artists. PCMS is thrilled to welcome artists who have worked with them since their inception. Performing in two other benefit concerts are violinist, Pamela Frank, with the Guarneri Quartet and pianist, Arnaldo Cohen.

WHEN: October 14th, 2011 at 7:30pm.
