HEERLEN, THE NETHERLANDS, May 05, 2011 (Press-News.org) Cadac Organice, Microsoft Partner Network member and developer of the Cadac Organice Product Suite (a SharePoint based solution for engineering document management and document control), introduces a SharePoint framework for the mining industry.
The Cadac Organice Product Suite offers solutions for engineering document management and document control and is entirely based on Microsoft SharePoint. Leveraging SharePoint as the platform for Enterprise Content Management and Collaboration, Cadac Organice is especially suitable for project-driven engineering industries like the mining industry. Over the years, it has been implemented worldwide by several mining companies, mining projects and suppliers to the mining industry. Examples are Exxarro, Newcrest Mining, Koniambo Nickel SAS (a joint venture between the government of New Caledonia and Xstrata Nickel and executed by Hatch and Technip), and Sinclair Knight Merz, providing engineering consulting services to the mining industry.
Based on their experience with these companies, Cadac Organice has developed a SharePoint framework to manage all operational documents in mining projects, such as engineering (CAD), quality, regulatory, specifications, and vendor documents, procedures, policies and external communications. The SharePoint document and content structure, as well as predefined libraries and lists, content and document types, metadata fields and values are aligned with policies and working methods in the mining industry. The framework gives mining companies a head start in using SharePoint and Cadac Organice for the engineering document management and document control needs.
The SharePoint mining framework is part of Cadac Organice Explorer (a smart client for Microsoft SharePoint and enhancing SharePoint with functionality for engineering document management), and available from May 1st, 2011.
