Summer Reading Has Never Been More Fun! Penchant for Penning Suggests 8 Ebooks To Jump-start Your Summer Reading List

After a long winter and more April showers than needed avid readers can look forward to May flowers and blossoming of summer reading lists. For the first summer, ebooks will top the lists says LinDee Rochelle of Penchant for Penning.

2011-05-08
SAN DIEGO, CA, May 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) LinDee Rochelle of Penchant for Penning reminds authors that with the Internet and ebooks, their buying readers now more than ever, perceive content as king. Frills no longer hide the lack of thrills, and writers must truly know how to write, says Rochelle.

Seasons past, readers waited with bookmarks in hand for the Summer Reading Lists offered up by local papers and the New York Times, spouting the next hot, steamy story by the current awesome author. Now, there are scores of book-dedicated blogs that spread the word about new and exciting authors in over-the-back-fence style on a worldwide basis, regardless of the author's method of publishing.

We've all seen the numbers - ebook sales 'rocketed' up 200% in February (2011) according to the Association of American Publishers, says Rochelle, and with social networking literally on fire, indie authors are marketing (especially their ebooks) in the same methods and often as effectively, as traditional publishers do for their authors.

No e-reader yet? No problem. Though e-readers are the current fun gadget, Amazon offers a free app to allow purchases and downloads to laptops, PCs, and other e-readers: Kindle for PC; and B&N's NOOK does, as well: Free NOOK apps.

This puts readers in summer heaven for 2011 with so much to choose from and so many ebooks to explore. What once was a one-book limit on a vacation flight to Ireland, or to squeeze into the beach bag for a trek to the nearest ocean or lake, is no more. The whole library is available!

In the spirit of support for indie authors, Rochelle released a list of 8 intriguing and entertaining ebooks to jump-start vacation reading lists. A mix of fiction and nonfiction, contemporary and historical, provide temptation for avid summer readers.
