ATLANTA, GA, May 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) GRAND-AM favorite, Owen Trinkler returns to the Virginia International Raceway for the Bosch Engineering 200 on May 13-14. Trinkler with co-driver, Sarah Cattaneo, will be racing the #198 Cruise America/Thor Motorcoach/Flying J Mini Cooper S for RSR Motorsports. Owen and Sarah are currently 4th in Driver points, RSR is currently 3rd in Team points on the season in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series Season. Owen was part of the RSR efforts that qualified in pole position the past two seasons in the same event.
"We're really looking forward to VIR as a team to rebound from Barber and putting that last race behind us," said Owen Trinkler. "We finished 11th, which typically isn't all that bad in such a competitive series, however, we know we're better than what those results showed. If we could have raced the next day we would have just to put it in the past. We've tested at VIR in the offseason, and already have had a lot of success as a team at VIR, so I can't wait to get the weekend started."
Trinkler and Cattaneo are coming to the Bosch Engineering 200 after a solid showing at the Barber 200 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham. Trinkler has great memories of the track at the Virginia International Raceway and hopes to make more this weekend. He and Cattaneo see the Bosch 200 as a way to continue the momentum they are building for a Championship run in the 2011 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series Season.
This season RSR Motorsport is supported by Pilot, Flying J, Cruise America, Thor Motorcoach, and Mini USA as they campaign their fleet of Mini Cooper S race cars out of their Orlando, Florida race shop to take on a very strong challenge in the Street Tuner Class of the Continental Tire Challenge in 2011. The team and sponsors are looking forward to a strong 2011 racing season.
