Romics is sure to attract plenty of animation enthusiasts to the Eternal City this autumn.

2010-09-15
ROME, ITALY, September 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) Comic fans could be in for a treat if they are heading to 5 star hotels in Rome soon, as Romics is due to take place at the beginning of October.

The hugely popular event attracted about 75,000 enthusiasts last year and the organisers will no doubt be hoping for just as many - if not more - in 2010, with the festival now in its tenth year.

It takes place from September 30th to October 3rd at the Nuevo Fiera di Roma and celebrates games and animation, as well as comic books.

Among the guests of honour confirmed for this edition of Romics are Riyoko Ikeda, Chris Ware and Claudio Villa, all of whom are celebrated figures in the world of animation.

"The festival is characterised by a cultural programme at international level, with high-profile guests, exhibitions, previews, special events and meetings with representatives of the most important international festivals, buyers and operators in the sector," remarked the organisers.

Attendees can expect to see all sorts of rarities at the event, as well as being given the opportunity to take part in the Cosplay Competition Romics 2010, with the heats and finals being held on October 2nd and 3rd.

Doors are open from 10:00 to 20:00 local time and tickets cost EUR6.50 (GBP5.35) or EUR7.50 for weekday or weekend day entrance respectively, while a four-day pass costs EUR15.

For more information on this event visit the Romics website or contact the venue on +39 06/65074200-201.
