RALEIGH, NC, May 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Bickett Market has announced its support of the 26th Annual NC Beautiful Golf Classic. The event will be held on July 15-17 at the Pinehurst Resort and Spa. Bickett Market has donated a Cooking Class Gift Certificate to the fundraiser's Live and Silent Auction, which is one of the highlights of the three-day event.
Chartered in 1967, NC Beautiful was created as part of Governor Dan K. Moore's pledge to emphasize preserving the state's physical beauty. The goal behind Governor Moore's vision was to use the gifts North Carolina was blessed with—its natural resources, scenery, climate, and physical variety—to provide economic and quality of life benefits for the people of North Carolina. That vision became NC Beautiful's mission. The NC Beautiful Golf Classic has been a state tradition for 26 years and is the organization's principle fundraising event. The annual event attracts sponsors and donors from across the state of North Carolina. NC Beautiful Executive Director, Steve Vacendak, says that donations, made by local businesses like Bickett Market, help support educational grants and scholarships that help perpetuate the natural beauty of North Carolina.
"There's great synergy between NC Beautiful and Bickett Market," says Vacendak. "Both of our organizations work to promote the natural resources of North Carolina. Where NC Beautiful strives to ensure the perpetuation of the beauty of our state, Bickett Market is dedicated to supporting and promoting its bounty. On behalf of our educators, we want to thank Bickett Market for their support of environmental education in North Carolina."
Bickett Market partners with local farmers and fishermen to offer the public cooking classes which uses "super fresh", handpicked produce, off-the-boat seafood, and true, all-natural, welfare-approved and sustainable local meats. The company also educates the public on where and how their local food is produced. Bickett Market manager, Jason Stegall, says that he is proud to have the opportunity to help state educators promote the importance of environmental preservation.
"By working closely with local farmers and fishermen, I know how important it is to ensure the integrity and prosperity of our land and water," says Stegall. "So many families depend on these resources as a way of life, it's vital to educate this and future generations on the necessity of taking care of our natural resources. I'm proud to be supporting NC Beautiful and am grateful for the positive difference they are making in our state."
