JENKINTOWN, PA, May 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Managers seeking a learning-intensive experience that does not take them away from their offices longer than necessary will find just that when the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) holds its 2011 Annual Conference and 30th Anniversary Tribute on October 13-16 in San Antonio. Texas. This year's conference theme, "Reaching New Heights: Educating. Achieving. Connecting," recognizes the vital connection between an informed manager and a successful practice. The conference offers 18 Continuing Education Hours (19 for Certified Veterinary Practice Managers).
In recognition of the VHMA's milestone anniversary, a special 30-year tribute will also be held.
A Wealth of Information
VHMA's Annual Meeting agenda is highly relevant because the topics were identified as "must know to succeed" subjects by practitioners in the field.
Attendees will leave sessions with useful information allowing for practical application of their newfound insights. Some highlights include: identifying skills that can be used to empower the team and better lead the practice; best practices in software usage; strengthening communication with clients; uncovering the components that distinguish a well-managed practice from others; and strategies for becoming more media savvy to better position your practice. Break-out sessions by track are included to address the distinct needs of managers ranging from new to seasoned. The schedule is a full one, and the learning opportunities are invaluable.
And although education is important, scheduled networking events will add another dimension of expertise to professional development. VHMA meetings are always structured to allow attendees adequate time to engage in collaborative dialogue with others in the profession.

The conference will be held October 13-16 at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio, 123 LoSoya Street, San Antonio, Texas, 78205. Registration is available online at http://www.vhma.org.
