EUREKA, CA, May 23, 2011 (Press-News.org) The yellow pages will soon go the way of the dinosaur, this according to a research done by Strategic eMarketing, a top-notch online marketing company based in California that is serving globally.
"The Internet has overtaken the yellow pages and will likely replace them in the next three years, and the term 'local search' will be an important buzz word during the next decade of marketing," said Strategic eMarketing in a recent statement.
Accordingly, Strategic eMarketing has developed an online site called Humboldtelocal.com which focuses on serving the marketing needs of local businesses in Northern California.
It found that local Internet searches account for about 20 percent of Internet traffic each day and over 60 percent of those searches are done by people who are ready to buy. For example, in Humboldt County alone there are thousands of searches each month for real estate agents and homes for sale.
Emanuel Rose, owner of Strategic eMarketing says, "Some of the most searched-for businesses in Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville, Fortuna and all of Humboldt County are restaurants, real estate agents, lodging and insurance agents, in other words, businesses that have not historically benefited from e-commerce."
He added that HumboldteLocal.com was created to make it easier for local businesses to take advantage of YELP, Google HotPot and FOURSQUARE to reach travelers, tourists and younger customers who may not be influenced by the yellow pages or other traditional advertising.
HumboldteLocal.com provides web optimization for Humboldt County businesses. Any business owner or non-profit can list their business for no charge or opt for a number of enhanced listings for a fee.
Humboldt eLocal also provides information for customers as well as search engine optimization by linking to business websites. All businesses can submit Humboldt County videos, press releases and other announcements for publication on the site.
Humboldt County businesses interested in finding out more about this service can contact Emanuel Rose through email at emanuel@humboldtelocal.com or via phone at (707) 506-6138.
