Success of National Urgent Care Convention Indicative of Industry Growth

The Urgent Care Association of America today announced more than 650 urgent care professionals, representing over 500 centers around the world, attended its 7th annual National Urgent Care Convention in Chicago May 10-13.

WARRENVILLE, IL, May 27, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Urgent Care Association of America today announced more than 650 urgent care professionals, representing over 500 centers around the world, attended its 7th annual National Urgent Care Convention in Chicago May 10-13. With record attendance, sold-out courses, and a sold-out Exhibit Hall, the success of the Convention is a direct reflection of continued industry growth, and increased recognition of urgent care as an essential part of the healthcare system.

The National Urgent Care Convention provides a platform for urgent care professionals, noted thought leaders, and industry supporters to sharpen their skills, network with new and old colleagues, and connect with vendors in the biggest urgent care Exhibit Hall around. This meeting featured 22+ practice management sessions, 22+ clinical sessions, and tracks tailored specifically for hospital-affiliated centers.

Key industry topics covered during this year's Convention included:
• Physician and provider shortages
• ED overcrowding and wait times
• Patient safety
• Integration strategies with other health systems
• Accountable Care Organizations

The National Convention offered continuing medical education (CME) accredited courses and provided the opportunity to earn up to 18.75 hours of CME.
