OXFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND, May 27, 2011 (Press-News.org) Datamaker version 2.7 includes powerful new data filtering functionality and enhanced data generation facilities, providing users with a fast, systematic, audited route to fully compliant data masking.
As Grid-Tools managing director, Huw Price explains: "Regulators now require a systematic approach to masking which must include a fully audited method for analysing which customer data could be considered sensitive.
Using powerful mathematically based analytical techniques to sample data from production data sources, this improved version of Datamaker provides users with a cut down list of potentially sensitive data, helping to identify where data leaks could occur."
Further enhancements support the hunt for sensitive data, providing 'identify and find' methodology where users can input groups of actual sensitive data and search across entire databases to find where these are used.
Price goes on to say that "the approach is wholly systematic and provides a fully audited route to full regulatory compliance. It dramatically reduces time as well, from months to literally days, as previously many users had to struggle with auditing thousands of columns across multiple databases."
Datamaker version 2.7 has also significantly enhanced its data generation facilities for flat files, allowing users to have up to two row delimiters, offering greater control over the data generated.
Through a range of new options, it brings improved version control and even quicker performance when publishing, often as many as 40 related files in less than 3 minutes. It is also possible to register the name and extension of those files to be published.
Voted "Most Innovative Testing Tool for 2011" by QA Guild and "UK IT Achievement of the Year 2010" by the British Computer Society, Grid-Tools is confident Datamaker version 2.7 will provide even greater flexibility and control for all compliance related test data management needs.
