Outpost Pro 7.5 - Performance Edition - Release Candidate Now Available For Download

Outpost Pro 7.5 - Release Candidate is 2-5 times faster than Outpost 7.1

2011-06-01
June 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Internet security experts at Agnitum (www.agnitum.com) are pleased to announce the availability of the Outpost Pro 7.5 - Performance Edition - Release Candidate. Outpost Security Suite Pro, Outpost Firewall Pro and Outpost Antivirus Pro can now be downloaded at the same page as public beta.

Outpost 7.5 Pro delivers improved performance using fewer PC resources. Internal tests have shown that web pages load 3 times faster with the Web Control module turned on, on-access scanning is twice faster and on-demand scanning is 2.5 times faster than the previous version.

Once testing with the release candidate is complete, the final products are expected to be released during the summer of 2011.

What's new in Outpost 7.5 - Release Candidate?

SmartDecision technology improvements eliminate false positives

Thanks to the beta-testers who sent suspicious files to Agnitum's R&D department, the SmartDecision technology has been significantly improved and the criteria to define whether a file is suspicious or not have been revised to minimize the possibility of false positives.

Anti-Malware module improvements ensure high-speed performance

The reworked Anti-Malware module, which combines Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware, has contributed to higher performance rates and more highly-optimized PC resource consumption. The updated SmartScan technology has increased the speed of subsequent scans by 3-5 times over the earlier version of the technology in Outpost 7.1.

We will shortly upgrade the antivirus engine from version 5.2 to version 5.3 to deliver even higher detection rates, particularly with regard to unknown malware. This engine upgrade will take place automatically; users of the release candidate software will not need to make any manual changes.

We encourage users to check out the Release Candidate for Outpost Pro 7.5 today and provide your feedback to our Support team or to the Agnitum group on Facebook.

More on Outpost 7.5 Performance Edition

Compared with Outpost 7.1, Outpost 7.5 demonstrates greater malware detection accuracy thanks to the renewed antivirus mechanism and improved Proactive Protection to preemptively block unknown Internet threats.

The SmartDecision technology facilitates security decision-making. Whenever SmartDecision technology detects an unknown or unverified application, it immediately alerts user and gives a recommendation on further actions. This way security decision-making is much faster and easier with Outpost 7.5 and risk of the wrong choice is minimized.
Additionally, Outpost 7.5 now filters content for mobile broadband devices (3G and other).
