Pokerregulation.org Launches To Deliver Free Regulatory Updates To US Online Poker Players

PokerRegulation.org is a free email alert service informing poker enthusiasts about the latest regulatory changes to online poker.

NEW YORK, NY, June 03, 2011

The website PokerRegulation.org (http://pokerregulation.org) has been launched following the recent crackdown on internet poker in the US, commonly referred to as "Black Friday". Pokerregulation.org will offer US online poker players the opportunity to subscribe and receive free email updates about the status of online poker regulation in the United States direct to their inbox.

The recent domain seizures and indictments of poker company executives at Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker has left many poker enthusiasts unsure of the legal status of online poker in the US. This was then followed more recently by more domain seizures, the closing of payment processors and a move to non .com domains by many of the remaining US Poker sites. These events have created a lot of confusion about the legality of internet poker and the safety of player funds.

PokerRegulation.org will offer players a direct link to information released by the jurisdictional bodies likely to decide upon gaming regulation in individual states, with Washington State being the first to enact legal online poker wagering and California potentially looking to follow.

Expressing his desire for sensible regulation, poker player Chris W, who played under the name "COYB1878" at Full Tilt Poker said: "Being a poker player in the US is not much fun at the moment. My options for playing poker are now severely limited."

"I don't live anywhere near a casino that offers live poker events. There are other places to play online, but I don't want to risk my bankroll taking my chances at sites that are still accepting U.S. players in the wake of what happened on Black Friday."

"The sooner they sort out regulated online poker in the US, the better."

PokerRegulation.org will offer free email updates on a regular basis, plus ad hoc news flashes as and when decisions are made about the future of US online poker regulation. Sources will include (but not be limited to) the Department Of Justice, US state jurisdictions, gaming industry professionals, specialist gaming lawyers and the international financial press.

Players can also show their support for the regulation of online poker in the US by joining the Facebook group 'I Vote For Online Poker' here http://on.fb.me/IVoteForOnlinePoker and by following the Twitter fan page here http://twitter.com/pokerregulation
