CONCORD, ON, June 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) Prospect Match Provides Employees an Incentive to Turn Back Global Warming
"We provide any employee who has been with us for a year a $3,000 rebate if they purchase a hybrid or electric car that gets 40mpg or better, combined. We do this not only because of the global warming issue," says Bob Richards, Marketing VP for Prospect Match.
"While everyone is waiting for someone else to do something about the world's problems, we realize that it starts here. By driving cars that have fewer emissions, not only does it positively contribute to help stem global warming but it makes three other contributions.
One is that it reduces the amount of money that flows to oil producing countries and that helps us become less dependent on others for our quality of life.
Second, because the flow of dollars to oil-producing countries slows, we are convinced that it reduces money available to people that kill our soldiers. We find it offensive that people buy big SUVS not realizing that the money for petroleum is one source of terrorist financing to kill Americans.
Third, the quality of air is directly impacted by the amount of carbon gases we emit. If people want their children and grandchildren to be able to breathe the air, they need to stop polluting now.
We also turn off PCs and printers at the end of each day and do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint. What people don't realize is that their personal actions could have issues like global warming, air pollution and high oil prices disappear. It's not about waiting for someone else to fix it."
