CORNWALL, ENGLAND, June 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Polperro Festival will return with a nine-day programme of live music, street entertainment and comedy later this month.
Running from Saturday June 18th to Sunday June 26th, the community event is organised by local volunteers in the Cornish village and has now reached its 16th year.
People heading to the festival can look forward to a comedy night showcasing the talents of rising stand-up stars Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster on Wednesday June 22nd.
Tickets for this event are priced at GBP7.50, but many items on the programme are completely free to attend.
Another highlight of the festival is the carnival day, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday June 25th.
The event will include a carnival procession complete with its own queen and prizes for the most eye-catching entries, as well as a circus workshop and traditional fairground games.
For visitors keen to make sure they see everything the area has to offer, souvenir programmes will be available for just GBP2 throughout the village during the festival.
Situated about four miles west of Looe, Polperro sits on the South West Coast Path and boasts an active fishing harbour among its many attractions.
