Head a mile up the road to activity centre Lakes Leisure Windermere where couples, families and groups can try introductory lessons to canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and sailing, or a multi-activity days with specially trained instructors. Alternatively, head to Grizedale Forest around 20 minutes away with its tree-tops Go Ape course and zip slides, a range of mountain biking trails and indoor and outdoor art exhibitions.
