AsiaRooms.com - Kuala Lumpur Visitors to Flock to Iskandar Johor Open

Padraig Harrington and Colin Montgomerie are just two of the big names set to take part in next month's Iskandar Johor Open.

2010-09-17
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, September 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) Some of the biggest names in world golf, as well as stars from the Asia Pacific circuit, are preparing to tee off at the start of the Iskandar Johor Open.

The tournament takes place at the Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club between October 14th and 17th, with organisers already having announced a star-studded player card.

Among the top golfers lined up to compete is South African ace Retief Goosen, who won the championship in 2008 and also has two victories in the US Open to his name.

Furthermore, Europe's 2010 Ryder Cup team will be well represented at the Malaysian tournament, with captain Colin Montgomerie and one of his wildcard picks Padraig Harrington both set to appear.

Top Asian players will make up the rest of the 144-player field, with a full list of entrants to be announced shortly. All of them will be chasing the championship's prize pot of $1.25 million (GBP808,000).

Although the Horizon Hills course is around three hours' drive from many Kuala Lumpur hotels, the journey is well worth the effort to see this star-studded bill.

People who do make the trip will not have to shell out a penny to watch the action, as no tickets are required.

For more information on this event, visit the Iskandar Johor Open website or contact the organisers on (+65) 6505 9300.
