Fort Detrick Business Development Office Partners with Local Businesses to Educate Federal Contractors Nationwide

FDBDO and TargetGov Team up to Create Webinar Series for Businesses Interested in Government Contracting

FEDERICK, MD, June 17, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Fort Detrick Business Development Office (FDBDO) offers a series of no cost webinars geared to educate novice and experienced contractors on various federal contracting issues such as marketing, capture management, insurance requirements, and business. The next webinar is the second segment of a four-part series "Marketing to the Government" scheduled for June 21, 2011 from 12:30pm- 1:30pm eastern time.

Topics to be covered include: how to successfully team and refining your elevator speech to increase your teaming and win probability, why is teaming and partnering is important in the federal market, differences between prime and subcontractor teaming, why businesses look for in teaming partners, the best ways to increase your chances of teaming.

Instructors for this webinar are Kathy Minchew, President of Federal Insights, LLC, a sales and market consulting firm focused on the federal government and health care industries and Peggy McShane, President and CEO of Net New Growth, LLC a marketing consulting firm that provides strategies, outreach and business development services.

Moderating the webinar is Gloria Larkin, president of TargetGov, a company that focuses on government procurement and related business development and marketing services including certification services, contract development (GSA Schedules, BPAs, IDIQs, GWACs, etc.), business development, proposal development and management, contract administration and expert federal contracting services.

The webinars are being organized and coordinated by Christine Demas, Director of the Fort Detrick Business Development Office (FDBDO) which was established in 2005 through a government contract awarded by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command's U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity to support Fort Detrick. Since its inception the FDBDO has assisted over 2500 companies better understand and participate in the business opportunities at Fort Detrick and navigate through the complex government procurement process.

The FDBDO has formed close working relationships organizations such as the statewide Economic Development Offices, colleges and universities, Chambers of Commerce and other business associations, and the Fort Detrick Contracting Community (FDCC) to help create a stronger business community and a stronger Fort Detrick.
