PROVO, UT, July 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Career Step, a leading online school, has been honored as a Military Spouse Employment Partner. The signing took place at a ceremony held June 29 in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. As a Military Spouse Employment Partner, Career Step is now included in the Army OneSource database of employment resources for military spouses.

"We are very excited that we were invited to this signing ceremony for new inductees into the Military Spouse Employment Partnership program," said Mark Thomas, Career Step COO. "Career Step has a strong history of serving the military community, and this partnership allows us to take an even more proactive role as we carry this commitment into the future."

The Military Spouse Employment Partnership program is an expansion of the Army Spouse Employment Partnership program and is focused on helping military spouses from all branches of the military attain financial security and achieve educational and employment goals. The program is designed to facilitate the preparation and employment of military spouses, helping them meet their employment goals and support their families while also providing partnered employers access to a diverse, talented pool of applicants.

Career Step's participation in this program will focus on providing quick education options—which are approved for MyCAA funding—that help spouses qualify for growing employment fields with nationwide hiring needs. For example, the school's Medical Transcription training prepares students with the skills they need to work from home, allowing them to move without fear of losing employment or tenure with an employer.

"The Military Spouse Employment Partnership is a great resource that provides more publicity for those services such as MyCAA and others that many spouses don't know are available," said Tim Reynolds, Career Step Military Liaison. "We're proud to be included as a Military Spouse Employment Partner because it provides Career Step as a resource for spouses looking to achieve their employment goals and demonstrates our commitment to serving the military and their families."
