LAFAYETTE, IN, September 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) Bliss Salon and Spa, a hair salon in Lafayette, IN, has announced they will be holding a "Color-A-Thon" to raise money for The American Heart Association. The event will be held on Sunday, October 10th from 1:00 - 5:00 pm.
The "Color-A-Thon" will feature reduced prices on hair coloring, massages, and other services that Bliss Salon and Spa performs with all proceeds going to The American Heart Association's Heart Walk fund raiser. The Heart Walk is The American Heart Association's premier fund raising event and is designed to promote physical activity and heart healthy living that is fun for the entire family. The American Heart Association is estimating that over 1,000,000 people will participate in this event in 2010 in more than 450 events. Funds raised from this event will go towards saving people from the #1 and #3 killer of all Americans - heart disease and stroke.
Salon owner, Bethany Tyrrell, is no stranger to charities. Earlier this year, Bliss Salon and Spa customers raised over $1,600 for Muscular Dystrophy and the salon has also been a target of the United Way's "Flock" program. That program raises money by putting pink flamingos in the front of a business. The only way the flamingos can be removed is if the business raises money for the United Way. Bliss also performed a similar event in January to raise money for Haiti. Tyrrell states, "Charities are something I feel strongly about and I'm fortunate that Bliss has been able to help in the past. Our customers have really come through in the past - I feel very blessed to have such wonderful people as our customers."
The Color-A-Thon will feature hair coloring for only $55; Color/Foil or Full Foil for $75; and 15 minute massages for only $15. There will no hair cuts or styles performed on this special day due to the expected large turnout.
For more information please call Bliss Salon and Spa at (765) 807-0343. You do not have to be a current Bliss Salon and Spa client in order to participate - everyone is welcome. Reservations are strongly encouraged.
Bliss Salon and Spa is a full service salon that includes top hair salon techniques, massage, facials, hair coloring, manicures, pedicures and wax treatments. For more information please visit our website at http://blisssalon.info or call us a 765-807-0343.
