DirectRooms.com - Dresden Hosts the Largest Cultural Festival in East Germany During 19 to 21 August 2011

DirectRooms.com reports that Dresden will be overrun with a massive festival showcasing the arts, food and cultures of the city's multicultural population with performances to entertain 500,000 people that are due to attend.

PHUKET, THAILAND, July 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Dresden City Festival is the largest of its kind in Eastern Germany and each year focuses on a particular theme which the performances are then based on. For 2011 the theme is 'Encounter Cultures' and the city's international residents will be presenting the performance arts that their countries are famous for.

The schedule is set to include live music concerts of Irish folk, reggae, gospel choirs, salsa and the mambo. Theatrical productions of famous plays incorporating national costumes and artistry will be another feature and visitors can enjoy sampling the delicacies from regions worldwide.

Some of the main food sections are due to come from Hungary, France and Russia, and for people that like a drink with their meal, there's going to be a whole village dedicated to wine. One area will also concentrate exclusively on Saxon wines with experts talking through the distinctive qualities while gourmet specialities are served to accompany each tasting.

The festival runs between 19th and 21st August 2011 and even in the evening the activities don't let up as Dresden's finest DJs perform live and there are various other live concerts as well as an adventure world for children.
