Charleston, Bluegreen Resort Baits Hook for Billfish Tournament

Bluegreen's Charleston, S.C., resort, The Lodge Alley Inn, is a prime location for owners to stay while attending the 1st Annual Charleston Harbor Marina Billfish Tournament, July 13-16.

2011-07-10
BOCA RATON, FL, July 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) Bluegreen Corporation (NYSE: BXG), a leading provider of Colorful Places to Live and Play, today announced that its Charleston, S.C., resort, The Lodge Alley Inn, is a prime location for owners to stay while attending the 1st Annual Charleston Harbor Marina Billfish Tournament, July 13-16.

Staying at The Lodge Alley Inn is like taking a step back in time. By restoring a collection of 18th century warehouses, Bluegreen created the optimal resort. The historic property now pampers owners with modern-day comforts and conveniences. This Charleston landmark reflects its rich European heritage with its original pine floors and red brick walls, thick Oriental carpets, period reproductions, and intimate parlors with fireplaces. After sightseeing in one of South Carolina's most historic cities, owners can return to the Inn for complimentary fresh-baked cookies and sherry before enjoying a four-star meal at the neighboring High Cotton restaurant, a winner of Wine Spectator's 2003 Award of Excellence.

Bluegreen owners wanting to participate in the fishing event will be staying near the tournament. The event takes place at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina and kicks off on July 13 with a captain's meeting and party on the beach. Fishing will begin on July 14, with anglers having the choice to fish two out of the selected three days. The event will close on Saturday evening with an awards ceremony that will feature food and live music.

"This event should bring a lot of smiles to our owners, whether they catch something or not," said Greg Overmier, General Manager of Lodge Alley Inn. "And with our resort's prime location, there will be a lot of good times available after the fishing day is over."
