Nashville Oncologist Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD Expands Consulting Services

Using his many years of experience in the fields of internal medicine and oncology, Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD will offer medical oncology consultation for personal and medico-legal review nationwide.

2011-07-22
NASHVILLE, TN, July 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD, who has spent over thirty years practicing medicine in the fields of oncology and internal medicine, announces a transition to consulting. "In consulting with many patients who have been returned a diagnosis, I have seen the uncertainty and fear in their face," reports Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD. "I can take those experiences and serve others in a whole new way," adds Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD. The veteran practitioner says that it is "all about helping those needing help."

"Medical situations can be extremely scary in many ways," acknowledges Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD. Confronted with the uncertainties of diagnosis, insurance and uncertain "next steps," a patient or family member may not be comfortable with all the questions needed to be asked, states Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD. "In fact, many people are not even sure which questions to ask," adds Dr. Foster. He says that a third party medical consultant can provide a factual review and answer all questions. "What a review of this nature should do is not only answer the questions of the patients and/or their family, but answer questions they have not even thought of to ask," notes Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD.

A 1971 graduate of North Carolina State University, Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD completed his doctoral work at both Duke and Vanderbilt University. From there, Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD attended the London University School of Tropical Medicine in London, England. The recipient of numerous accolades and recognitions, Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD entered the medical field with a simple goal in mind: to help people. "I love medicine and I entered medicine with the mindset of not making money but making a difference," recalls Dr. Foster. His current transition to consulting "is still well within those same vision lines," explains Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD.

"We will be offering services via the Internet," states Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD. With the rising costs of medical and health care, Dr. Foster says this strategy will avoid costly travel and associated expenses. "Moreover, offering second opinion/third party consulting through the web will also help patients receive a prompt answer and guidance," adds Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD.

"This type of work will offer patients that peace of mind that a second medical opinion can give," says Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD. When families face difficult medical decisions, information becomes power and provides a patient focused direction, says the veteran doctor. "And this service will come at a fraction of the cost - and in a more timely manner," points out Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD. Fear can prevent good decisions from being made, Foster says. When asked why this new direction, Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD responds, "I want to work to alleviate that fear, to empower patients whom I have never met, and continue serving others." In working in this new medical consulting arena, Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD says it is important for those future patients seeking a second voice or opinion to understand one foundational truth. "There are no questions too simple," concludes Dr. Jerry Michael Foster MD.
