Remington College Provides Nearly 3,000 Complimentary Back-to-School Hair Cuts

Cuts for Kids program sends kids back to school with a smile

2011-09-02
HEATHROW, FL, September 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) Remington College sent more than 2,700 students back to school looking and feeling their best this summer. The career college provided complimentary back-to-school hair cuts at the twelve Remington College campuses with cosmetology programs.

The complimentary hair cut campaign is an annual event called Cuts for Kids. Families are invited to bring in children under 17 years of age for a free hair cut during the two weeks prior to the start of the school year. Adults are able to take advantage of discounts on certain salon services.

Since Cuts for Kids began, Remington College has provided more than 8,000 complimentary hair cuts for children.

Cuts for Kids is a great example of Remington College fulfilling its mission to give back to our local campus communities, said Dr. Mike Lanouette, Vice President and Chief Academic Officer for Remington College. The program is also a great way to provide real-world, hands-on experience for our cosmetology students.

This year Remington College-Lafayette Campus led the way, providing 497 back-to-school hair cuts.

The Remington College Cosmetology program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training in The Salon at Remington, which allows students to work with real clients.
