SAN DIEGO, CA, September 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Aeromedevac, Inc. announced its plan to be the primary air ambulance provider at SCORE International's upcoming race, September 9th - 11th, in San Felipe, Baja, California, Mexico. The Challenge of the Champions Desert Race is new to the Mexi-Cali area, joining several other dirt races serviced by Aeromedevac teams.
"This is the first year these particular races are being held in San Felipe, or simply south of the border, due to insurmountable insurance issues in the U.S.," said Adam Williams, President of Aeromedevac, Inc. "However, Aeromedevac teams have been providing air ambulance services to races in this region for 14 years; we think the change to Baja will be a positive one for participants and spectators."
Aeromedevac, Inc. will have its N241CW (King Air B-100) on site, stationed at MMSF (San Felipe) from Friday, September 9th through Saturday, September 10th.
While Aeromedevac's medical crews work out of the aircraft, there will also be team members on the ground in San Felipe assisting with the communication, coordination and transportation of all medical transports during the races.
"Our teams have become a fixture at these events and this is a chance for us to help make a difference for a very exciting race day," said Williams.
SCORE International is an off-road sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing and is famous for its flagship event, "The Baja 1000."
