Bethany Macktaz, Former RI Assistant Attorney General, to speak at Attorneys General Eastern Regional Conference

NEW YORK, NY, October 22, 2011

On October 20, 2011, Attorney Bethany Macktaz will speak at Columbia Law School for the Attorneys General Eastern Regional Conference. Attorney Macktaz will speak on the issue of Human Trafficking, in particular her experience in dealing with victims during the prosecution of a state sex trafficking case.

Attorney Macktaz served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Rhode Island Attorney General's office, Criminal Division, prosecuting sex-trafficking crimes, sexual assaults, and narcotics cases.

When asked to comment on the opportunity to speak at this event, Attorney Macktaz said, " I am honored to be asked to speak at this event. I applaud the Eastern Regional Attorneys General for their interest in this important topic. Human Trafficking is prevalent in all our communities and increased education is essential to fighting this violent crime."

The Attorneys General Eastern Regional Conference will be held on Thursday October 20, 2011 at Columbia Law School, from 3:45 to 5:00PM.
