Isabella's Cookie Company Partners with Milk + Bookies to Inspire Children to Read, Give and Grow, One Cookie at a Time

Gourmet bakery's partnership with literacy non-profit makes for the perfect recipe

2011-11-03
BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) Isabella's Cookie Company is pleased to kick off its partnership with literacy non-profit organization, Milk + Bookies , with a sweet treat that not only makes taste buds happy, but also brings books to children in need. The Los Angeles-based gourmet bakery has created an official Milk + Bookies Chocolate Chip Cookie, which will be available for purchase online starting November 2011, to help raise money and awareness for the nonprofit. For every Milk + Bookies Chocolate Chip Cookie bought, Isabella's Cookie Company will donate a portion of the proceeds directly to the cause.

With "Read, Give, Grow!" as its motto, Milk + Bookies encourages giving through events where children select, purchase and inscribe books that are then given to children who do not have books of their own. Because one of Isabella's Cookies' main initiatives is to make a difference in the community, this partnership with Milk + Bookies really is the perfect recipe.

"Milk + Bookies works tirelessly to create experiences for children to get inspired and excited about giving and reading - what better incentive than the yummy and amazing Isabella's cookies?" said Milk + Bookies founder, Meredith Alexander. "We are so grateful for the incredible generosity that Isabella's Cookie Company has shown; these proceeds will allow our organization to reach more children in more cities."

The goal of the partnership is to raise awareness, donate a portion of the proceeds to a relevant cause, and inspire a lifetime of learning for children in need. Beginning the first week of November, supporters of the cause can visit http://www.isabellascookies.com to purchase the Milk + Bookies Chocolate Chip Cookie. For those looking to give a gift that gives back for the holidays, a gift box including the official Milk + Bookies cookie and limited edition holiday flavors will also be available for purchase on the site soon.

"The first cookie I have ever perfected was the chocolate chip," says Jennifer Palmer, founder of Isabella's Cookie Company. "I've always known that I wanted to use the recipe for good, and I couldn't imagine a more wonderful cause to support than Milk + Bookies ."

Inspiring children to read, give and grow with one cookie at a time, the partnership between Isabella's Cookie Company and Milk + Bookies makes for one sweet pairing.

ABOUT ISABELLA'S COOKIE COMPANY:

Isabella's Cookie Company was founded in 2001 by Jennifer Palmer as part of her mission to create and deliver satisfying, classically delicious cookies with a unique gourmet twist. Using a mix of the finest ingredients possible in adventurous combinations of flavor and texture, Isabella's Cookies has the recipe to satisfy any palette. Always baked-to-order, each batch guarantees freshness and the ultimate feel-good cookie experience. The company's philosophy boils down to three core components: pure, fresh and delicious. This tried and tested combination blends together beautifully to make Isabella's Cookies the most craved cookie in the world.

ABOUT MILK + BOOKIES :

Milk + Bookies is a nationwide charitable organization that inspires children to give back, using books as its currency. At Milk + Bookies events, boys and girls are provided the opportunity to select, purchase and inscribe books that are then donated to their peers who do not have access to books of their own. The fun-filled events feature music, story time and, of course, milk and cookies. Milk+ Bookies facilitates these events creating more and more experiences for children to be exposed to giving. Milk + Bookies combines two essential and worthwhile efforts: literacy promotion and service learning. While the book donations are imperative to our mission, just as important is instilling the seed of giving into each participant sparking feelings of importance, self-confidence and the desire to give and give again.
