ORANGE, CA, November 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) Farmers & Merchants Bank (F&M) is celebrating 30 years of community banking in Orange with a celebration of its longstanding commitment to customers and community. The recently remodeled branch will host a VIP reception and open house, recognizing F&M officers who have served the Bank since its inception in Orange and paying tribute to customers and colleagues whose commitment has enabled the branch to grow and thrive.
Both the City of Orange and Farmers & Merchants Bank have legacies spanning more than a century and continue to serve the community amid an uncertain economic climate.
"The Orange branch is a time-tested example of how service and integrity can fuel a legacy that spans generations," said Daniel Walker, F&M chairman of the board and president. "As a longtime resident and the F&M officer who opened this branch, Orange holds a special place in my heart."
Walker, who serves alongside his brother W. Henry Walker and father Kenneth Walker on F&M's executive team, was one of four employees who helped launch the Orange office in 1981 and remain with the Bank today. The Legacy Team includes:
- Daniel Walker: Construction Manager, 1981 Chairman of the Board and President, 2011
- Phil Sblendorio: Teller, 1981 - Long Beach Branch Manager, 2011
- Tim Wilson: Branch Manager, 1981 - Board of Directors, 2011
- Kathy Erickson: Director of Operations, 1981 - Rossmoor Operations Manager, 2011
The Orange branch has also received an extensive remodel since it first opened its doors three decades ago. This past year's renovations include a full interior upgrade, an updated drive-through and a new layout for increased customer convenience.
The festivities will commence on Thursday, November 3, with a VIP reception that will roll out the red carpet and feature live music, hors d'oeuvres and a fun trip down memory lane hosted by Walker and Wilson. The event will also feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally unveil the newly remodeled branch.
On Saturday, November 5, F&M will host an open house event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring a coffee bar, a $1,000 shopping spree sweepstakes to the Outlets at Orange and F&M "Orange, CA" tote bags for visitors. Guests will also receive complimentary personal banking comparisons and consultations courtesy of the F&M Concierge Services team.
