NEW YORK, NY, November 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Orchard Street favorite, Snack Dragon Taco Shack, has happily been awarded a beer and wine license by the New York State Liquor Authority. With an undeniably delicious menu that has something for everyone, even vegans, the beloved late-night taco shack has heard echos of "Can I have a beer?" since its inception and they're finally ready to say, "Yes".
The perfect compliment to everyone's favorite taco shack, the addition of alcoholic beverages include Modelo Especial, El Presidente, and Tecate beers served ice cold, as well as, new age tropical sangrias, Chilean Cabaret Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanche. Additionally, the Michelada spicy Mexican beer cocktail will be added for the holidays.
"It's been a long time coming. After six and a half years of business, I can serve a cold beer or wine with a taco," says owner Josephine Janson. "The Umami Thai Taco with the tropical ginger sangria is a natural match!"
A regular spot for locals and downtown partygoers alike, the two locations - East Village and Lower East Side - are famous for their quirky decor and an irresistible menu. Small portioned Mexican plates of carne asada, pollo verde, chorizo, quinoa pilaf, and grilled sole are stuffed in corn tortillas and topped with salsa, beans, jack cheese, and sour cream.
To celebrate the occasion the shack is running the "Taco Fever Deal" - beer, wine or 'New Wave Sangrias' - are half-off with the purchase of two tacos until 8pm daily. The lychee, ginger, pear sangria is truly unique and worth a whirl at a mere $4 a glass.
Visit Snack Dragon Taco Shack at 164 Orchard Street, learn more about the shack at http://www.snackdragon.com, and keep an eye out for the basement gallery project space called 'Envelope'.
