CARLSBAD, CA, November 23, 2011 (Press-News.org) EWC Express was incorporated in December 1989 by Vernon Rawstorne and his two brothers-in-law, Ken Rohan and Jorge Rebelo. Now an established and highly respected leader in the logistics industry in Southern Africa, the company had far more humble beginnings, operating originally from a single garage.
During the two decades that followed, the company has grown from strength to strength and has gone through several changes, the most recent being in October 2010 when Imperial Holdings purchased 80 percent of the company.
EWC CEO Vernon Rawstorne says it is moving more into the overnight courier market, servicing companies in the music and entertainment industry and transporting CDs and DVDs to every corner of South Africa.
In the last year alone, EWC moved 35 thousand tons of freight, equating to three million parcels. "We have a committed team that looks specifically at identifying market expectations. With Imperial's input, it helps us immensely in terms of expansion. We want to expand into other areas and branches in Nelspruit and Polokwane are part of next year's plans," he states.
