ALVIN, TX, November 25, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Barbed Rose Steakhouse and Seafood Co. is thrilled to be participating in the Marine Toys for Tots campaign at the restaurant and adjoining Burger Bar.
Starting November 25 and continuing through December 15, The Barbed Rose will be collecting new, unwrapped toys as Christmas gifts for less fortunate children in the surrounding area. The restaurant, not yet two years in existence, has already developed a strong commitment to its community. It plans to continue strengthening the bond during the Holiday season by bringing patrons together in a drive for Toys for Tots.
"Toys for Tots is just one way we can help give back to our community," says Jason Chaney, executive chef and partner at the restaurant. "What is more fulfilling than putting smiles on the faces of children during the holiday season?"
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters, in hopes that it encourages them to become responsible and productive citizens in the future. "Resident Marines are involved in every aspect of the drive and have a close working relationship with social welfare agencies, churches and other groups," says Chaney.
To participate in The Barbed Rose's endeavor, please bring a new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more to The Barbed Rose between November 25 and December 15 and receive a free dessert. Toys must be in their original packaging. Please note that toy guns and weapons cannot be accepted. The Barbed Rose is located at 113 East Sealy Street, Alvin, Texas. Toys will be distributed by the US Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation.
The Barbed Rose and Burger Bar is open Monday through Thursday from 11am to 9pm, on Friday and Saturday from 11am to 10pm. The Burger Bar is open Sunday from 11 am to 9 pm.
